Scripture Course Leader

Are you passionate about Scripture and skilled in teaching the Bible in an engaging and accessible way? We are seeking one or more presenters to lead our Scripture courses next year.

About the Role
Each course consists of five sessions and is delivered in three formats:

  1. Two online sessions (morning and evening sessions)
  2. In-person (one-day Saturday event)

We run six Scripture courses per year, with two courses per term. The courses cover a range of biblical themes, including: The Gospel used in the Sunday liturgy of the year; Books of the Old and New Testament; Thematic studies such as Prophecy in Israel, The Miracles of Jesus, or Truth in the Bible.

Our courses are popular-level, roughly undergraduate standard, and appeal to those eager to deepen their understanding of the Bible in a structured yet accessible way.

Course Format

Each session includes:

  • A 30-minute recorded talk (audio-only or video with slides)
  • A short reading assignment with reflection questions
  • A live seminar discussion (either online via Zoom or in-person at the Centre) lasting 60–90 minutes. Participants are expected to listen to the talk in advance. The Saturday in-person session is a condensed version of the course material.

Remuneration

We offer 50% of course donations, which currently amounts to approximately £1,500 per five-session course (offered three times).
